Again this poem is part of Mara Eastern’s Poetry 101 Rehab, which you can find here. I actually wrote this before seeing her prompt, but it fit so well that I decided to just submit it anyway. Hope you enjoy it.
The First Day of Spring
Just as in Winter
Even the prettiest flowers whither
And die,
Longing for the summer sun
That makes them whole.
As they wait,
So I wait for
Your return.
Knowing that until that
Beautiful, joyous first day
Of Spring,
I will never more
Be all that I can be.
What a sprightly spring poem! It’s a perfect match for this week’s rehab’s topic – you predicted it well 😉

I really like the idea of you moving more in this direction. I think it would add a lot. Come advertise your blog at my place: https://lilypupslife.wordpress.com/2015/03/21/what-do-you-blog-about/

Hi Lily! Never expected to meet you here again 🙂
Everything fits together. Nothing is out of place. Nothing is missing. And there’s nothing I would want you to change.
(Although I have never been fond of the idea of changing other people’s writing – but that’s not the point right now 😉 )
